And there is a saying that everybody with us must be in support of them and tonight, we are honored to have here with us Anas, the guy from Ghana, our colleague from Ghana that have discovered the big situation” Gianni Merlo
Anas Aremaeyaw Anas won this special award with his last investigation that centered on corruption in Ghana football and some part of Africa. Before he received the award, there was a minute silent where everyone in the auditorium stoop up to honor the late Ahmed Hussein Suale.
The “name, shame and jail” journalist dedicated the award to his colleague Ahmed.
I received this award in honor of my colleague, Ahmed Divele Hussein and I know that he would have been with me here to receive this award but for the unfortunate incident. Ahmed, as we all know was shot few days ago, two in his heart and one on his neck. And If there is any message that Ahmed would have love for me to give for all of you, it would have been this simple, that we will never surrender because journalism is not a crime. Thank you very much. Anas Aremaeyaw Anas
