Breaking news.. Police woman commits suicide at Garu Tempane District
According to Garu Tempane District police commander Asp. Alexander Tyeku said the incident happen Around 1:30 to 2pm this Aftooon. The commander in addition said, madam Peace Agbemefo was supposed to be on Duty at GN Bank in garu this morning where she was booked to have her duty. Around 6:30am, Madam Peace was not at duty . The GN Bank manager Mr Haruna Abdul Fatauw phoned the police quarters requesting for a police officer before commencement of day work. It was after the phone came in that investigation started on why Madam Peace was not on duty. She lives few meters from the Garu Tempane Police premises at the back of Garu ITC in a compound house. According to a young girl in the same compound house, both of them are from Volta region so she used to visit her for food. A day before this incident, She the young lady was informed by the police woman to come for food the next day after school hours. According to the young girl, after school, she went to the police woman only to find her gate locked. After calling the police woman several times without responses, she went for extra key to unlock the gate because she thought the police woman was on duty as at that time. It was after opening the gate, that she saw the lifeless body of the police woman lying on the floor in a pool of blood. A bullet piercing her throat through the head with a police riffle lying besides her concluded that she shot herself. Among the evidence was a rope tied to the room sealing with a knife. Peace Agbemefo Constable, is fair in complexion, tall and fat and in her early thirties.The corpse is currently deposited at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.
