Nigeria already in Russia while Ghana is up for protest
A win for Nigeria over Zambia booked their ticket to Russia 2018 world with a game in hand. A second half goal from Alex Iwobi who play for Arsenal football club in England provided the first African country to qualify for Russia 2018 world cup. His goal came on the 73rd minutes assisted by Abdullahi Shehu. Nigeria who will play Algeria in November is already a qualified nation.
In Uganda, at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala where Ghana drew with the Ugandans, Ghana Football Association "GFA" has lodged a protest to Fédération Internationale de Football Association "FIFA" over the conduct of Referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants Eldrick Adelaide and Steve Marie.
According to a release by the GFA Communications Division, Ghana was denied a clear penalty when Frank Acheampong was brought down in the box. Rafael Dwamena was also denied what Ghanaians think it was a perfect goal in the 93rd minutes.
The GFA demands, FIFA to examine the performance of the match officials to award Ghana the three points.
