I NEVER CURSED REFEREE ISSAKA
Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Awudu Nafiu has shrugged off reports suggesting that he cursed referee Issaka Afful with the 'Antoa' deity.
Reports in the local media indicated that the 28-year-old stalwart guardsman cursed the referee when he was recarded in their week ten clash with Medeama.
Medeama SC came from behind to record a 2-1 victory over the Kumasi based club at the T&A Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The former Obuasi AshantiGold skipper admitted that he verbally assaulted the referee when he awarded the second spot-kick for the home side but he did not cursed him.
"I never mentioned that name 'Antoa' because I don't know where it can be found, I only trust Allah" Nafiu told Kumasi based Kessben FM
"I knew the referee [Issaka Afful] was a Muslim and a Northerner, so I asked him some questions in our language"
"After awarding the dubious penalty, I asked him that will a true Muslim who prays five times daily and reads the Holy Quran award such a penalty"
"He just shown me the red card after asking those questions and I will never lie before Allah, I did not curse him"
